If you like your music positive, upbeat, and with a helping of smarts and sass, Ole artist  Katia Zuccarelli may just have what you have been waiting for.

Bubbling over with talent and full of stories to tell, this Canadian singer-songwriter is ready to share her debut single, “Lose My Mind,” with the world.

Released through ole and Universal Music,“Lose My Mind” came together in a session with co-writer Jakub Andrew. The song explores the first flurries of love, when the object of your affection might not yet know who you are, but you are imagining what your love could grow into. The writing session mirrored Katia’s approach – spontaneous and effortless. “We just wrote what felt right and groovy,” Katia says, and that’s exactly what the song sounds like.

Katia came to ole after winning the company’s “On the Spot” discovery program during CCMA week. “It has been incredible,” Katia beams. “They steered me into what was just right for me, and I couldn’t be more grateful.” While her initial prize was a publishing deal, this was extended into a record deal. She has since been collaborating with top songwriters in Toronto, Nashville, and Los Angeles.

For Katia, this new chapter is the result of the hard work she put in over the years, seeking opportunities to have her impressive vocals heard. Katia performed the theme song for the 2011 YTV series “Life with Boys,” appeared on CTV’s soundtrack for “Instant Star Season 4,” and was a background vocalist for Selena Gomez and the Scene’s 2009 debut album, “Kiss and Tell.”

It all started with a guitar and encouragement from a teacher. Growing up in the Greater Toronto Area, life wasn’t always the easiest and music became an escape. At age 12, with the help of a teacher, who set up a rock band for some of his students, Katia got her first taste of performing. She loved every second of it and hasn’t looked back since that first show.

“Music took me to another world, and was an outlet for my feelings,” Katia remembers. She is very aware that she now has the opportunity to have her songs take on that same meaning for others. Body positivity, and being comfortable in your own skin, have become important messages for her to share with her growing fan base.

Katia Zuccarelli’s own story in the spotlight may be just beginning, but everything about her suggests that this is merely the first chapter of what will be a long and fulfilling narrative.
