The areas of promotions in which LAST TANGO PRODUCTIONS specialises include:

NATIONAL PRESS: The servicing of full album releases to (100+) key press across Canada as well as weekly follow-up in order to secure album reviews, issue dates of printed material as well as hard copies/emails/faxes/web pages of CD reviews. Contacts include print media (dailies, weeklies, monthlies, trades, campus press) and Canadian based internet media interested in reviewing new releases.

Press quotes are used to further update press kits, support sales and radio tracking efforts, assist in booking tours, etc. A detailed interoffice report containing individual media feedback/comments is forwarded to the client on a biweekly basis.

COMMERCIAL RADIO TRACKING: Servicing and tracking singles to approximately 100+ commercial radio stations in any given format (AC, HOT AC, COUNTRY, CAR, CHR) nationally. LAST TANGO supplies both radio tracking services and radio promotions (give-aways, weekly stat reports, arranging interviews, etc.). Feature play, regular rotation and chart positions are the goals of radio tracking and promotions. Commercial radio includes both BDS/Mediabase reporting and non-reporting stations in major and secondary markets in Canada as well as Galaxie, Sirius, Xm and MaxTrax. On a weekly basis, LAST TANGO PRODUCTIONS compiles and distributes stat reports to commercial radio music directors detailing radio play, chart numbers, tour dates, recent press reviews and interviews, video play, TV appearances etc. in order to support and promote radio play, radio adds and chart numbers. A more detailed interoffice report containing individual station feedback/comments is forwarded to the client on a biweekly basis.

NON-COMMERCIAL RADIO: Servicing and tracking full CDs to approximately 60+ non-commercial stations including campus, community, Canadian based internet and CBC programs as well as other specialty radio (i.e. Galaxie Radio, MaxTrax, Sirius, XM etc.) nationally. Campus stations include all Canadian stations reporting to CHART, CMJ and EARSHOT magazines. CBC radio consists of all applicable network-based music programs and specialty programs.
LAST TANGO PRODUCTIONS tracks non-commercial radio on a weekly basis to ensure the arrival of CDs and to secure airplay and chart positions (where applicable). An interoffice report detailing the status of the album at each station as well as detailed responses from music directors is forwarded to the client on a biweekly basis.

TOUR SUPPORT: Servicing the full album to all applicable media contacts including print press, television and radio with the purpose of arranging interviews, live appearances and performances, listings, coverage and feature stories nationally. A tour interview itinerary and media report with media feedback is forward to the client on a regular basis.

SPECIAL EVENTS: In the case of a CD release party, showcase or other special event, LTP services include supplying media kits to applicable local, regional and national media including print press, radio and television for the purposes of arranging interviews, live appearances and performances, listings, feature stories, coverage and attendance of media at the event and providing consultation with regards to advertising and additional promotions.

VIDEO: Videos are serviced to all video programs nationally on such stations as MUCHMUSIC, MUSIQUEPLUS, BRAVO, etc. Feature plays, regular rotation, promoting of live shows are all goals of video promotion as well as live appearances. In the case of a special events, videos and EPKs are also serviced to entertainment programming such as CTV, Global, CBC, CITY TV, etc. and their equivalent across the country.

PRESS KITS: Assisting and consulting with artist biographies, EPKs, assembling press clippings, photos and other promotional material for servicing to press, video and radio.

REPORTS: On a bi-weekly basis, LAST TANGO PRODUCTIONS keeps you informed on the status of your project with highly detailed inter-office reports listing the responses, feedback and comments from radio and media contacts. In this way, clients are always kept abreast of their project and can obtain invaluable feedback and information from music directors and music editors. In terms of print reviews, coverage and interviews, copies are forwarded to clients on a regular basis.

LAST TANGO PRODUCTIONS, founded in 1989, is a publicity and promotions company offering marketing support in all areas of the music industry. As head of the promotions team responsible for GOLD sales for native Canadian folk/rock duo KASHTIN and rap group NAUGHTY BY NATURE, LAST TANGO PRODUCTIONS subsequently became responsible for a large portion of publicity and promotions for QUALITY RECORDS in the early ‘90s. Promotions for Quality Records included the CHRIS SHEPPARD PRESENTS THE TECHNO TRIP release (platinum status), international techno sensation 2 UNLIMITED with their debut album GET READY (platinum status), and the sequel album SHEPPARD'S REVENGE, TECHNO 2 (platinum status).
